Winter Maintenance Work at Bristol Aquarium
*We are pleased to announce this work has now been completed, to read about the project and see pictures please click here!*
We are embarking on some major renovation work to our large native marine display over the winter.
The work is part of our ongoing improvement programme for the aquarium and will result in the re-opening of the spectacular candy-cane viewing window.
The 350,000 litre display is home to more than 300 native marine species; including sharks, sea bream, sea bass, mackerel, rays, flatfish and crustaceans.
In order to carry out the work the display, which is featured in both our ‘Sunken Ship’ and ‘Bristol Harbourside’ areas will have to be drained and the stock temporary re-located; either to other displays here, to our quarantine facility or to our sister aquariums.
We are doing everything we can to minimise disruption to visitors, however as the aquarium is open every day, except Christmas Day, the work will have to be carried out during opening hours.
The work is being carried out until the end of December, however this is subject to change should the project take longer so please do look out for updates.
Bristol Aquarium would like to thank visitors for their patience while this work is being undertaken and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
