Bull Huss Sharks (Scyliorhinus stellaris) also known as Greater Spotted Catsharks or Nursehound sharks, are commonly found around the coasts of the UK.
They are bottom feeders so are not often seen swimming around as freely, choosing to lay in wait for their prey to happen upon them. Bull Huss sharks prey on hard-shelled crustaceans with their incredibly powerful jaws and broad, crushing teeth.
These sharks are nocturnal predators so at the aquarium they can usually be seen peacefully sitting on the bottom of our Sunken Shipwreck display.
